DRM Reception

Back

+++

The following screenshot shows the late afternoon DRM reception of the Deutsche Welle transmitter Sines/Portugal at 17.800MHz running the DREAM software.

A central heating radiator was used as provisional antenna.

The band is quite calmy, but strong fading is recognizable at the spectrum display. Nevertheless there are hardly changes of the SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio).

Because the second IF value is 10KHz, the input spectrum of the DRM signal is symmectrical around the 10KHz marking. In case of DRM reception the DREAM software tunes automatically to the center frequency of the DRM signal.

Every signal tuned by the DiRaBox Control Panel software is displayed at the 10KHz marking position. In case of analogue reception the cursor has to be moved to the 10KHz position.

Due to the 15KHz IF bandwidth the passband range is +/- 7.5KHz around the 10KHz center frequency.
